Mary Walshok

The Mary Walshok presentation is on environments where entrepreneurs flourish. Currently a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at UC San Diego, Dr. Mary L. Walshok is the associate vice chancellor for Extended Studies and Public Programs in addition to being a professor of sociology. She was educated at Pomona College, receiving her BA. She also earned an MA and PhD in sociology from Indiana University.

As evidenced by the Mary Walshok presentation, the speaker is considered a thought leader in the field of aligning work force development and regional economic growth. She is the author of the books 'Blue Collar Women,' 'Knowledge Without Boundaries,' 'Closing America's Job Gap' and the upcoming 'Invention and Reinvention: The Evolution of San Diego's Entrepreneurial Economy.'
