The Lucy Kalanithi talk is about finding acceptance in suffering and her experience of becoming a widow when her husband Paul Kalanithi passed away after losing his battle with lung cancer. A Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Stanford School of Medicine, the speaker obtained her medical degree from Yale University. At Yale, she was apart of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. She accomplished her residency at the University of California-San Francisco and did her post-doctoral fellowship training in healthcare delivery innovation at the Clinical Excellence Research Center at Stanford University.
