Deviating from his writing roots, he began work in Web production in New York City. Then, putting his education to use, he was picked up by New York Times as a books and technology writer and critic, where he was highly praised. The portfolio of magazines he has written for includes Time Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Wired and the Wall Street Journal.
While hired at Time full-time in 2002, he also started writing several books, one called 'Codex,' an international bestseller. He is currently still writing as a senior editor at Times.
