Leonard Mlodinow earned a double major in math and physics and a master's degree in physics at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. Later he earned his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of California, Berkeley. From there he entered the television and film industry for computer gaming, and later became vice president and publisher for math education at Scholastic Inc. He is the author of seven novels, two children's books and is currently a lecturer at the California Institute of Technology.
