Keri Facer

In her presentations, Keri Facer addresses issues and developments in education. This is a subject she is well acquainted with as a Professor of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University and Social Research Institute. Prior to this position, Facer was the research director at Futurelab. Here, she led the Beyond Current Horizons Programme for the government of the United Kingdom, which looked at socio-technical change with a specific view to education.

Facer is also an author. Her book, 'Learning Futures: Education, Technology and Social Change,' encapsulates much of her thinking on digital cultures, radical educational change and social justice. As is evident in her presentations, Keri Facer is keen to point out that technological change will inevitably lead to changes in education and indeed society at large; as such, educators be savvy to such developments.
