Kelly Sue DeConnick

The Kelly Sue DeConnick talk on discomfort offers advice on how to embrace awkwardness based on her experience as a comic book writer. Based in Portland, Oregon, the writer founded a company called Milkfed Criminal Masterminds Inc. with her husband and fellow writer Matt Fraction.

The speaker has written for a number of publications, including Image Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, DC Comics/Vertigo, Dynamite, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, Humanoids, Tokyopop, Engine Press and VIZ, LLC. This includes work for Captain Marvel and Avengers: Enemy Within. She was educated at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a BA in drama.
