Katrin Baumgarten

Keynotes by Katrin Baumgarten surround the topics of design and explore the relationship between human and technology. Understanding the relationship of aesthetics and technology has been focus in Baumgarten works. Her creation of light switches that react negatively to human stimuli, showcases the unique relationship of disgust that people often times exhibit, but not talk about.

Her keynote topics adhere to the unrealized norms of society. Society's focus on the aesthetic pleasantries of objects inspired Baumgarten to discuss the nature of disgust. After graduating Royal College of Art in 2010, Baumgarten works have been showcased in Victoria & Albert Museum London, Watermans Gallery and MoMA New York. She also teaches creative electronic workshops with several organizations.
