Kate Stone is the founder of a company called Novalia, an interactive paper printing company, which she has given speeches and keynotes on. Stone hails from Chesire, England originally but she moved to Australia at the age of 20 where she worked herding sheep. When she returned to England, she joined Salford University where she studied electronics. She later earned a PhD in physics from the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge.
Stone's company Novalia allows her to infuse technology into paper, which is something that can easily be found everywhere. She claims that even as a child she loved to tinker with wires and make seemingly everyday items into something new and interesting. Her company allows her to live out her childhood dream.
