Karima Bennoune

The Karima Bennoune talk on terrorism encourages human rights advocates to oppose terrorism and fundamentalist movements by sharing the stories of real people fighting on the ground. The speaker currently works as an international law professor at the University of California-Davis School of Law. Prior to this position, she worked as a professor of law at the Rutgers School of Law - Newark.

She is also the author of 'Your Fatwa Does Not Apply Here: Untold Stories from the Fight Against Muslin Fundamentalism,' which she references at the beginning of the Karima Bennoune talk.

She was educated at the University of Michigan, where she earned a joint degree in law and Middle Eastern and North African studies, obtaining her JD, MA and Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies.
