Jolynn Minnaar

The Jolynn Minnaar talk about insecurity offers advice to young creatives (specifically women) who might be fearful of entering a new space or telling their story. The speaker shared some of her own fears when making the documentary Unearthed. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, the award-winning filmmaker released her debut feature length documentary to critical acclaim in 2014. The movie about the shale gas industry and fracking won the Green Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest and Best South African Film Audience Award at the Encounters Film Festival. In the Jolynn Minnaar talk, the young creative describes many of personal challenges she faced in the creation of the film.
