Jaron Lanier

The Jaron Lanier keynotes usually focus on the topic of Web 2.0. He worked on applications for Internet2 in the 90s and so is a major player in this field.

Jaron is credited for popularizing the term virtual reality. He has been working on video games for almost as long as they have been around. He worked on everything from Atari back in the 80s to Kinect for Xbox just recently. He still works for Microsoft in the Research Department.

The Jaron Lanier keynotes are given in between his extensive list of hobbies and personal projects that include music, documentaries and books. He also spent some of his younger life as a midwife. Jaron went to school at New Mexico State University to study mathematical notation and computer programming.
