Hallam Stevens

Hallam Steven's speaking engagements focus on his research on the intersectionality of information and biotechnology. Stevens studied at Harvard, eventually receiving his PhD from the Department of History of Science. He also holds an MPhil from Cambridge University and an AB from Harvard College. He went on to teach at Harvard in subjects including biotechnology, Internet history, computing history, nanotechnology and the relationship between the fields of science, science fiction and technology. He currently serves as an assistant professor at NTU's School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Most of Steven's research concerns the effect and influence of the computer in fields of biological practice. He is currently working on two books, one which will examine the social and political contexts of biotechnologies, titled "Biotechnology and Society," and another which exclusively adopts a social science perspective while examining the bioscience field, titled "Postgenomics."
