Gus Speth was formerly the dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and has given speeches on environmental change. Currently, Speth is a Professor of Law at the Vermont Law School. He attended Oxford University and graduated from Yale Law School. In the 70s, Speth co-founded the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Gus Speth's career has revolved around environmental issues in one way or another for a long time, which is what makes him a perfect environmental keynote speaker. He believes that changing politics is key to changing the environmental issues society is currently facing. Though he agrees that everyone should work on reducing their own footprint in small ways, big changes won't be seen until there has been a considerable change in terms of politics.
