Fred Swaniker

The Fred Swaniker talk about leadership discusses the future of Africa. As a youth, the speaker lived in many African countries, including Ghana, Gambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. This instilled in him a love for the continent and a desire to make it great.

The serial entrepreneur received his undergraduate degree from Macalester College in Minnesota before working in Johannesburg at McKinsey & Company and then graduating from the Stanford School of Business. In 2004 he went on to found the African Leadership Academy, where he still serves as Executive Chairman. The African Leadership Academy encourages the next generation of top-notch African students to be better leaders and bring the continent into prosperity through stronger institutions, as discussed in the Fred Swaniker talk.
