Emily Hiers

The Emily Hiers talk on diversity discusses why people should use language and our words to be inclusive, especially of those with intellectual disorders like the speaker's younger sister Lindsey. Currently a student, Emily Hiers is in her final year of study working towards a double major degree in fabric design and theater in Bainbridge, Georgia. As mentioned in the Emily Hiers talk, as a high school student she was invited to participate in a national conference on leadership. This experience, in addition to personal anecdotes about her family, was mentioned in the speech.

The TEDxUGA (University of Georgia) speaker is currently working on an exit show in May 2015 and preparing for life after college.
