The Edward Tenner speeches focus on unintended consequences of innovation; he provides engaging history and fascinating examples as he analyzes the cultural aspects of technological change. He has written international best-selling books titled, ‘Why Things Bite Back: Technology and the Revenge of Unintended Consequences,’ and ‘Our Own Devices: The Past and Future of Body Technology.’
Tenner was previously an executive editor at the Princeton University Press in the Physical Science and History division. He also held research positions at the Institute for Advanced Study, and was a visiting lecturer. He is currently a visiting scholar at Rutgers School of Communication and Information, and an affiliate of the Center for Arts and Cultural Policy of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School. Tenner holds a Ph.D from the University of Chicago in in European history, and is also a former member of the Harvard Society of Fellows.
