The Daniel Levitin talk on stress explains how to stay calm when you are stressed out, based on principles of neuroscience and psychology. A neuroscientist by training, the speaker is also a musician and author. Some of his books include 'This is Your Brain on Music,' 'The World in Six Songs,' 'Foundations of Cognitive Psychology' and 'The Organized Mind.'
The award-winning scientist was educated at Stanford University, where he earned his BA in Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Science, plus a PhD from the University of Oregon. His post-doctoral training was also completed at Stanford University Medical School as well as UC Berkeley. He previously taught at his alma mater and now teaches at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
