Dambisa Moyo

Dambisa Moyo's speaking career began after she obtained an MBA in finance at American University in Washington, D.C., after which she pursued a Master's degree from Harvard and economic PhD at Oxford.

Moyo went on to found the Mildstorm Group, an organization that offers investment strategies and global market analysis to their clients. She was formerly an economic consultant at Goldman Sachs and the World Bank's Washington branch, and now serves on a multitude of different boards, including Barrick Gold, Barclays Bank and SABMiller. Ultimately, Moyo calculates the risk and opportunity in the global economic market; she has taken a keen interest in the economic landscape of developing nations in Asia, South America, Africa and the Middle East.

Over the course of her career, Moyo has penned three NYT best-selling books, including 'Dead Aid: Why Aid is Not Working and How there is a Better way for Africa.' She also edits for CNBC and regularly writes for the Financial Times and the Wallstreet Journal. She has won the Hayek Lifetime Achievement Award and TIME magazine considered her as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World."
