Cynthia Breazeal

The keynotes by Cynthia Breazeal reveal new applications for robot counterparts and share her enthusiasm for their potential with all audiences.

Cynthia Breazeal studied at the University of California for Electrical and Computer Engineering. She pursued further education at MIT, receiving her SM and ScD. Conducting research in building robots who are socially intelligent garnered her awards like TIME magazine's Best Inventions of 2008, the ONR Young Investigator Awards and numerous other best technology and paper awards at academic conferences. She has published many journal articles on robots as well as the book 'Designing Sociable Robots'.

Breazeal is currently an Associate professor of Media Arts and Sciences at MIT. This is also where she co-founded the Personal Robots Group. She also sits on the advisory board for the Science Channel and an Overseer at the Museum of Science in Boston.
