The Charles Wheelan speeches focus on the challenges faced when trying to match business policies with public policies in America. Wheelan was a Democratic candidate for the U.S Representative of the Illinois, fifth district in 2009. Wheelan is now a journalist and author, and is currently the Director of Policy and Communications for the Chicago Metropolis 2020.
He achieved his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, and in 1993 he received his MPA from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, and later went on to complete a PhD in public policy from the Harris School in 1998.
Wheelan worked as a Midwest correspondent for The Economist, and also acted as an economics and finance correspondent for WBEZ radio, and taught as an adjunct professor at the Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
He is the author of several books including the ‘Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science,’ and his most recent release called, ‘10 1/2 Things No Commencement Speaker Has Ever Said.’ Wheelan also contributes to well-known publications such as The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune.
