Cary Fowler

Cary Fowler's keynotes are now widely regarded around the world. After receiving his Ph.D. degree from Uppsala University in Sweden, an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree from Simon Fraser University, and an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities degree from Rhodes College, Dr. Cary Fowler went on to become the Executive Director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust and became very influential in the creation of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.

Dr. Fowler has been a Professor and Director of Research in the Department for International Environment and Development Studies at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Norway. He also led the International Conference on Plant Genetic Resources at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.

As a highly influential contributor in the supervision of the Food and Agriculture Global Plan of Action Cary Fowler's keynotes focus on the discoveries he made while serving as a Special Assistant to the Secretary General of the World Food Summit.
