Benjamin Grant

The Benjamin Grant talk on satellites discusses understanding human impact on the planet. The speaker is the founder of the Daily Overview, a daily photography project that shows how human activity has had an environmental impact on Earth which challenges people to rethink how satellite images are used and how we see our planet.

He is also the author of Overview, a book covering the same sort of content as the Benjamin Grant talk, that is inspired by the Overview Effect (or the feeling astronauts get when the see Earth at a distance). Based in New York City, the speaker began the project in 2013 and has since accumulated 200 original images by piecing together satellite pictures.
