Keynotes by Asha de Vos express her deep love for marine mammals. A marine biologist who graduated from the University of St. Andrew and Oxford, Vos is currently submitting her PhD to the University of Western Australia. Her research focus lies with the blue whale population in Sri Lanka. Vos has been published on the topic, among others, in the International Whaling Commission.
Vos served on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, where she campaigned for marine conservation in Sri Lanka, and consulted for the National Aquatic Research AGency. In 2012, she presented at the Sustainable Development Dialogue, an event that was specially geared towards ocean health.
Vos is a TED Fellow and a Duke University Global Fellow in Marine Conservation. Her research has been featured in the New York Times, the BBC and in esteemed publications all over the globe.
