Anant Agarwal's keynotes focus on the need to integrate online teaching into standard classroom curricula. Agarwal is a professor of computer science at MIT and a major proponent of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). MOOCs are online courses designed for hundreds of students from around world without the restrictions of classroom attendance. Agarwal sees MOOCs as an integral part of re-inventing the education system to meet the needs of 21st century students.
Agarwal is also the founder and president of edX, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to provided MOOCs for students around the world and providing free global access to post-secondary education.
