The Amy Purdy keynotes focus on overcoming and coping with life's unexpected challenges. In particular, Purdy recounts her obstacle of losing both her legs to bacterial meningitis.
Currently, Purdy is a professional Motivational Speaker and the Co-Founder of 'Adapative Actions Sports,' an NGO that provides ski and snowboard equipment to the Paralympics. Prior to her current position, Purdy was a licensed Massage Therapist and Makeup Artist. She was also a spokesperson for 'Element Skateboards' and a model for a 'Nikki Sixx' Project. She was been featured in 'Fugue Magazine,' an arts and culture magazine and 'Women's Health Magazine' and made an appearance in a Madonna music video.
In 2002, she received a grant from 'Challenged Athletes Foundation,' which allowed her to travel to snowboarding competitions within the United States. After a minor surgery, she entered the USASA where she won medals in three different events. Apart from being a three-time world cup medalist, Purdy also teaches and organizes skate and snowboard camps for youth and wounded veterans.
