The Zeynep Ton talk on creating good jobs in the service and retail industry discusses ways employers can offer better wages, better schedules and have more engaged workers. The adjunct professor is currently part of the faculty at MIT's Sloan School of Management, and has been since 2011. Prior to this, she was a member of Harvard Business School's faculty. Her research and teaching is focused on operations management and how companies can use operational procedure to be more profitable and sustainable.
The subject matter of the Zeynep Ton talk will be put into a book entitled 'The Good Jobs Strategy,' which is set to be released in January 2014. As the speaker has been teaching MBA and executive education courses in operations management, supply chain management, service operations and operations strategy since 2002, her decade's worth of experience and research makes her an expert.
