Speaker Yaakov Stern is a professor of Clinical Neuropsychology in the Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychology at Columbia University. He also works with the Taub Institute for the Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain. Stern is in charge of the Cognitive Neuroscience Division of the Department of Neurology and is Director of Neuropsychology for the Memory Disorders Clinic at the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Stern earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Touro College. He then went on to earn his PhD from the Experimental Cognition Program at City University of New York. This is where Stern received doctoral training. Stern joined the Columbia University Medical Center back in 1979.
Stern is currently on the editorial board of The Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology.
