As the author of 'Overtreated,' her acclaimed book won the 'Best Economics Book of 2007' title from the New York Times. Her education includes the University of California, Santa Cruz where she earned an MS in Marine Science. Later, Brownlee worked as a senior writer for Discover Magazine, Sports Illustrated, U.S. News & World Report and holds her current position with the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and New American Foundation alongside working as a Visiting Fellow for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
