The speaker conducted fieldwork from 2010 to 2012 on how daily life affects peaceful intervention on the ground in the eastern DRC with complementary research in Burndi, Cyprus, Istrael, Palestine, South Sudan and Timor-Leste. She authored Peaceland: Conflict Resolution and the Everyday Politics of International Intervention based on this research.
