The social entrepreneur commenced her career working in her family's textile business. She started volunteering at a number of non-governmental organizations because she felt a social touch was missing. She eventually began working full time at an organization she used to volunteer at. After several years she felt the need to start her own social business, so she founded Mikado Consulting in September 2007.

Mikado aimed to create multidimensional social impact by engaging different stakeholders. Through this endeavor, the speaker also established the Future is Brighter project. This initiative empowers young people to be self-determined individuals.
