Rosalind 'Roz' Savage is best known for her speeches on her career as an ocean rower and raising environmental awareness such as climate change and pollution. Savage is the first woman to row across the Atlantic, the Indian and the Pacific Ocean and currently holds four Guinness World Records for ocean rowing. Savage first took on rowing at University College, Oxford. In 2001, she became a management consultant and an investment banker. In 2003, she joined the Royal Geographical Society on a trip to Peru where she stayed an extra three months, travelling and researching for her first book, Three Peaks in Peru.
Savage has rowed approximately 15,000 miles, which is equivalent to over five million oarstrokes, spending about 500 days of her entire life at sea. In 2006, she took 103 days to complete the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. From 2008 to 2010, Savage successfully completed her journey across the Pacific Ocean. Lastly, in 2011, Savage rowed across the Indian Ocean, obtaining the honor of becoming the first woman to make a solo row across the Indian Ocean.
