Robin Chase's speeches dig into the heart of entrepreneurship. As the founder of Zip Cars and Buzz Cars, the MIT graduate often shares her thoughts on the importance of brand identities and promises in peer-to-peer businesses.
Having studied at MIT's Sloan School of Management, Robin Chase also won a Loeb Fellowship at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. After establishing Zipcar in 2000, Robin Chase and her family moved to France and launched Buzzcar, a car-sharing platform similar to Zipcar but that focuses more on rentals amongst friends and neighbors in closer communities. As part of its brand promise, something that is frequently emphasized in Robin Chase's keynotes, Zipcar and Buzzcar both operate with a similar mission, to create an eco-friendly and cost-efficient method of transportation for people who do not own vehicles. Despite being a young company, the entrepreneur has established a solid brand as well as steady confidence amongst its users.
As one of the most famous entrepreneurs of the decade, Robin Chase has listed on Time Magazine as 100 Most Influential People in 2009, Business Week's Top 10 Designers and the Massachusetts Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit and Start-Up Woman of the Year. The entrepreneur still remains active in her field and gives back to her community through various outlets. She is currently a board member of the World Resources Institute and a member of the US Department of Transportation Intelligent Transportation Advisory Committee, to name a few.
