Robert McKee is a creative writing instructor who is experienced in giving speeches on the writing process, among other things. McKee was previously a professor at the University of Southern California. He is well known for his 'Story Seminar,' which he created while he was teaching in California.
McKee attended the University of Michigan where he received his bachelor's degree in English Literature. He later went on to earn a master's degree in Theater Arts.
In his speeches, Mckee has examined different styles of writing, and compared script writers to novelists and playwrights. In one speech, he explores the pros and cons to screen writing.
McKee was the writer behind the BBC series 'Filmworks', and the Channel Four series 'Reel Secrets.'
