Gupta holds a Bachelor's Degree from Marist College in the field of premedical biology, as well as a Master's Degree from Yale University in Music; he is a violinist with the LA Philharmonic. Gupta has combined his love of music and science into a rewarding and fulfilling career by creating an organization called the Street Symphony, which helps cure people with mental disorders and inmates with the healing power of music.
While studying for his premedical biology degree, Gupta was part of many neuro- and neurodegenerative biology research studies. He was also a Research Assistant at CUNY Hunter College in New York City and at the Harvard Institute of Medicine Center for Neurologic Diseases, in which he studied Parkinson’s disease.
At the age of eleven, Gupta made his first solo appearance in Tel Aviv with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and has also performed as a soloist with several different orchestras, including the Bombay Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic and the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. Gupta has been featured in the Los Angeles Times as well as on the 60 minutes program where he discussed Steve Lopez’s book titled, ‘The Soloist.’ The Robert Gupta keynotes demonstrate the importance of finding one’s passion and living with a purpose.
