Taking imaging to a whole new level, the Ramesh Raskar keynotes focus on the scientist's interest in computational photography, inverse problems in imaging and human-computer interaction.
Raskar joined the Media Lab in MIT after his time at the Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories as head of the Lab's Camera Culture research group. With inventions that include transient imaging to look around a corner, a next-generation CAT-scan machine, imperceptible markers for motion capture, long-distance barcodes, touch + hover 3D interaction displays, low-cost eye care devices (NETRA) and new theoretical models to augment light fields (ALF), Raskar is known as an innovator in his field.
Raskar has received numerous awards for his work, which include the TR100 Award from Technology Review, the Global Indus Technovator Award, the Sloan Research Fellowship, the DARPA Young Faculty award and four Mitsubishi Electric Invention Awards.
He is currently co-authoring a book on computational photography and is a full-time professor at MIT.
