Anti graduated from the Nanjing Normal University in 1995 with a degree in Industrial Electrical Automation. In 2007, he attended the University of Cambridge as a Wolfson Press Fellow, and in 2008 he became a Harvard University Nieman Fellow.
Anti has experience in both the Chinese and American journalism streams, as in 2003 he worked as a researcher for the Washington Post and later moved to the The New York Times as a researcher for three years.
In 2011, he was awarded with the ‘M100 Sanssouci Media Award 2011’ in Potsdam Germany. The Michael Anti speeches are not only inspirational but depict the harsh reality and limitations that many face around the world when it comes to Internet freedom and privacy.
