Geoffrey Canada is an educator who has given many keynotes on social change, especially in terms of education. Canada earned a degree from Bowdoin College and went on to receive a masters degree from Harvard.
Canada is passionate about educating the less fortunate, so after university he accepted a position at The Rheedlen Institute in Harlem as an education director. He is now the president of this institute and has since renamed it The Harlem Children's Zone. Since earning the title of president at The Harlem Children's Zone, Canada has created after-school programs, college planning classes, pre-school care programs and more.
Canada firmly believes that more innovative approaches to educating are needed. He considers most current teaching methods to be failed and believes that change is the only way to improve the education system.
