Frei holds a BA in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a master's degree in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University. She completed her schooling at the Wharton School by graduating with a Ph.D in operations and information management. She is currently a professor at the Harvard School of Business and is also the Senior Associate Dean.
