The speaker currently works as an Assistant Professor of Psychology as New York University. The social psychologist works in the Social Perception, Action and Motivation Lab at NYU, in particular. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ohio University from 2006 to 2009.
The speaker was educated at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she received her BFA in music performance as well as her BA in psychology. She went on to obtain her PhD in social psychology from Cornell University.
As evidenced by the talk by Emily Balcetis, her research focuses on the conscious and unconscious manners in which people relate to the world. Her work has been published in a large number of academic publications.
