Lord David Puttnam's keynotes address the importance of the media and education in democracy. Puttnam is an award-winning film producer, having been involved with films including Chariots of Fire, The Killing Fields and Bugsy Malone. He currently works in public policy, relating it to education, the environment and the creative and communications industries. He is the chair of Atticus Education, an online education company that focuses on delivering interactive seminars on film and many other subjects to educational institutions around the world.
David Puttnam's keynotes emphasize the need for citizen involvement to keep democracy alive. He spends his time teaching at various Universities in Ireland. He was also recently appointed to the U.K Prime Minister's trade envoy to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Burma.
