David Brancaccio's keynotes speak to the modern age of journalism where one must seriously call into question what he or she reads. As an experienced journalist with the radio business program Marketplace and PBS Magazine's NOW, Brancaccio's expertise in the area is very impressive.
After graduating from Wesleyan University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in African Studies and History, Brancaccio went on to achieve a Master's in journalism from Stanford University in 1988. After his studies Brancaccio worked his way up to become the senior editor and host of Marketplace in 1993. During his time at this post, Brancaccio was awarded the DuPont-Columbia Awared in 1998 and George Foster Peabody Award in 2001 for his contributions.
David Brancaccio left Marketplace in 2003 and met up with Bill Moyers on NOW broadcasting. Brancaccio won a National Emmy award in 2007 for his story on public health care in Kenya. He followed up this accomplishment wiht a Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in television political coverage in 2009. As a contributor to the Wall Street Journal, CNN, CNBC and more, Brancaccio has returned as a correspondant to Marketplace.
