Martin is currently the Founding Director of the 'Solutions Journalism Network' and the leader of the Op-Ed Project's 'Public Voices Fellowship Program' at Princeton University. She is also Valenti Martin Media's founding partner and an Editor at 'Feministing.com,' which won the 'Hillamn Prize for Blog Journalism.' In terms of her education, Martin received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Barnard College and her Master's of Writing and Social Change from New York University's Gallatin School.
Martin is a contributing writer for 'The New York Times' and 'The National.' She also made appearances on 'The O'Reilly Factor' and 'CNN.' As an author, Martin is most recognized for her books 'Do It Anyway: The New Generation of Activists' and 'Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters: How the Quest for Perfection is Harming Young Women,' which was awarded a 'Books for Better Life' nomination. Due to her work in feminist studies, Martin received the 'Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics and founded 'The Secret Society for Creative Philanthropy.'
