The keynotes by Bob Mankoff reflect his career as an illustrator. Mankoff is an American cartoonist and has been the Cartoon Editor at The New Yorker since 1997. Before achieving his Cartoon Editor position, Mankoff spent many years submitting his own cartoons for consideration. In 1992, Mankoff founded the Cartoon Bank, which is essentially a helpful tool for New Yorker cartoonists who are looking to sell their work.
Bob Mankoff has given speeches on the subjectivity of humor, since he is an authority on the subject. He believes that it's impossible to please everyone with a cartoon or a joke. Mankoff encourages the readers of the New Yorker to really think about the cartoons seen there.
Mankoff is also the author and editor of a few cartoon-related books including 'The Naked Cartoonist: A New Way to Enhance Your Creativity', and 'The Complete Cartoons of The New Yorker.'
