Speaker Bernie Krause is the founder of Wild Sanctuary, who has done keynotes on soundscaping as an environmental tool. Krause is a soundscape recordist, as well as a bio-acoustician and an author. Krause has worked on electronic music with the likes of Stevie Wonder and The Byrds. He has a PhD in bio-acoustics from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati.
Krause believes that soundscaping provides people with an effective way of determining an ecosystem's overall health. His wildlife soundscapes clearly show that biodiversity is shrinking in certain areas.
Krause formed Wild Sanctuary in 1968, which is an organization that records soundscapes, breaks them down and shares its findings in an effort to speak out for nature.
