Adrian Owen's keynotes focus around his esteemed neuroscience career and his incredible achievements. A PhD graduate from the Institute of Psychiatry in London, England in 1992, Owen worked in the field of neuroscience at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University and Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre in Cambridge, leaving in 1997. After his time at these institutions, Owen joined the Medical Research Council's Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit.
Owen published over 180 academic science papers and 35 books on the subject of neuroscience. He has been featured in Science, Nature, and the New England Journal of Medicine, among others. Owen was awarded with a $10 Million Canada Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging from the University of Western Ontario, where he is now employed. He was named the 'Scientist to Watch' by the Financial Times, UK in 2008 and voted among the top 50 of most important scientists in the United Kingdom in 2010.
