Visual artist, performer and choreographer Tony Orrico, uses his own body to create dynamic shapes on a piece of paper. Orrico makes stunning art with the help of complex choreographed movements and motions. The artist puts his work in the bilateral drawing category. It is done through improvisation and based on an artist's perception of the space that surrounds them. With major inspirations including his 94-year-old grandfather's repetitive paintings and Plato's 'Allegory of the Cave,' Tony Orrico explores how forms can be cast as shadows and seen as representations of things greater than him. This empowering concept is what led the artist to experiment and engage with his art, using a series of movements and techniques like rotating around the center point of a canvas. These unconventional and imaginative techniques make for stunning visual creations and for a fascinating keynote presentation.
