The photo retouching keynote by Becci Manson reflects back to the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami that destroyed the belongings of countless families. After watching the events unfold on TV, Becci made her way to Japan with All Hands Volunteers to help with their response effort.
Since families were forced to leave everything behind, Becci and her team found thousands of photos, photo albums and portraits. Becci was entrusted with a project to start cleaning pictures that were anywhere from 100 years old to still in the envelope.
Becci connected with friends over Facebook and LinkedIn to recruit photo retouchers to assist her with the project. The photo retouching keynote by Becci Manson proves that a small project can have an everlasting impact, and basic needs are similar across the world.
