Erin Weed, a communication strategist and the Founder and CEO of Evoso, introduces her talk on authenticity by telling her audience about when she was living in New York City and working as an extra on a television show. During this time, she learned about the different types of personas one could put forth, and realized that being genuinely authentic was the easiest way to get the most out of each situation.
This especially held true at networking events, as it enabled her to truly connect with the people she met. Weed tells her audience that in order for them to present their authentic selves, they should use statements such as "I think," "I feel," and "I want." By doing this, people are more easily able to connect with someone on an emotional level, leading to more meaningful relationships.
