In her talk about professional development, Monikah Ogando explains how to unlock your inner CEO.
The speaker shares some of her personal story translating for her parents and being a high achiever (and bullied as a result) at a young age. These experiences led her to create a concept called the 'golden mask' -- which is essentially the strengths you hide behind to feel more acceptable to others. However, the talk about professional development also notes that when people take off the mask and get vulnerable and real, it tends to be a positive thing for those they share themselves with.
She goes on to describe the nine paradoxes of high performers, which go to show that even great strengths can be a double edged sword.
