Leslie Morgan Steiner is a writer and marketing professional who tells the story of meeting her partner as if it's a fairy tale. She says she was a typical domestic violence victim in several ways. Firstly, she had no idea about the issue or how to identify it. Secondly, she was between the ages of 16 and 24, which made her three times more likely to be a victim than any other age woman.

Steiner goes on to note the first stage in domestic violence is for the abuser to seduce and charm the victim. The second stage is to isolate the victim, which is what her partner did to her. Steiner goes on to explain the psychological trap victims fall into during domestic abuse cases.
